TAPA TSR2 Certified
Baku GLS is TAPA TSR2 certified, demonstrating that our road transport operations meet internationally recognised security requirements for the transportation of high-value and sensitive goods.
The TAPA Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) provide a recognised security framework for logistics service providers and organisations throughout the supply chain. The standard is designed to help prevent cargo theft, reduce the impact of security incidents and establish consistent security practices for road transport operations.
Certification is achieved through independent assessment and ongoing compliance with TAPA requirements, with Baku’s certification reviewed as part of the required certification cycle.
For our customers, TAPA TSR2 provides additional assurance that their freight is being transported through an operation with recognised security procedures, controls and standards.
Technology
Technology plays an important role in how we manage our day-to-day logistics operations.
We use Ecovium, a German logistics technology provider, to support our end-to-end operations across key areas including transportation management, warehouse management, shipping logistics, customs clearance and compliance.
By connecting different areas of our operation through one technology ecosystem, our teams have greater visibility and control throughout the movement of our customers’ freight.
Tracking & Fleet Management
Our trucks and trailers are monitored using ORBCOMM fleet technology, providing our operations team with accurate, real-time visibility across our fleet.
The system provides detailed information including vehicle and trailer locations, journey movements, stopping times and arrival and departure activity at collection and delivery points.
This gives our transport planners greater visibility throughout each journey, helping us manage schedules efficiently and provide customers with accurate information on the movement of their freight.
Temperature Monitoring & Control
Our refrigerated trailers are monitored using ORBCOMM temperature-monitoring technology, allowing us to track cargo temperatures throughout the journey.
Our operations team can monitor temperature information remotely and receive alerts if temperatures move outside specified parameters, if a fault occurs or if an unexpected temperature change is detected. This allows potential issues to be identified quickly and appropriate action to be taken.
Temperature-controlled trailers are also fitted with an external VDU (Visual Display Unit), giving the driver visibility of the trailer’s temperature while travelling.
Together with 24/7 monitoring of temperature-controlled loads, these systems provide additional reassurance when transporting temperature-sensitive freight.
Security
Security is built into both our equipment and the way we operate.
Our trailers are fitted with high-standard security locks and seals, while Baku trucks operate with individually controlled locking and key systems to help maintain the security of freight throughout its journey.
Our trucks are also equipped with 365-degree CCTV systems, providing comprehensive footage around the vehicle.
Where required, footage can be downloaded and reviewed internally to support incident and accident investigations, assess driving events and help us continually promote safe driving practices across our fleet.
